Post PGA Tour Tournament Types in 2006 and 2007

Greetings ....

The make-up of the PGA Tour, in terms of types of events, in 2006 and 2007. Feel free to view and offer your own conclusions.

2006 Events

1. Open (31) -- Each invites players using PGA Tour Exemption Categories
Top 125 Money Winners eligible for these

Sony-Hawaiian, Buick-San Diego, FBR-Phoenix, Nissan-Los Angeles, Chrysler-Tucson, Doral-Ford, Honda, Bell South Atlanta, Shell-Houston, Zurich-New Orleans, Wachovia, EDS-Byron Nelson, St Jude-Memphis, Barclays-Westchester, Booz Allen at Avenel, Buick-Hartford, Western Open, BC Open, John Deere, US Bank-Milwaukee, Buick Open, Reno-Tahoe, Deutsche Bank, Canadian Open, 84 Lumber, Southern Farm Bureau, Texas Open, Chrysler-Grensboro, Frys-Las Vegas, Funai-Disney, Chrysler-Tampa Bay

2. Invitational (7) -- Each uses some part of the regular PGA Tour Exemption Categories, in addition to categories unique to the event itself.
Top 70 Money Winners (80 at Colonial) eligible for these

Bob Hope, Pebble Beach, Bay Hill, Heritage, The Colonial, The Memorial, The International

3: The Majors (5) - Grand Slam and others. Each has different invitational formats.

Masters, US Open, British Open Championship, PGA Championship, Players Championship

4: No-Cut/Other (5) -- Each has different invitational formats.

Mercedes Championships, Accenture Match Play, Bridgestone Invitational, American Express Championship, Tour Championship

2007 Fed Ex Cup Events

1. Open (20) -- Each invites players using PGA Tour Exemption Categories
Top 125 Money Winners eligible for these

Sony-Hawaiian, Buick-San Diego, FBR-Phoenix, Nissan-Los Angeles, Mayakoba Classic at Riviera Maya (Mexico), Tampa Bay, Honda, Shell-Houston, Zurich-New Orleans, Wachovia, EDS-Byron Nelson, BellSouth Atlanta, Stanford St Jude-Memphis, Travelers-Hartford, John Deere, US Bank-Milwaukee, Buick Open, Reno-Tahoe, Canadian Open, Wyndham-Greensboro

2. Invitational (7) -- same as 2006

3: The Majors (5) -- same as 2006

4: No-Cut/Other (4) -- Same as 2006, except for - (1) Doral-CA replacing American Express Championship; (2) Tour Championship, which moves to Fed Ex Cup Playoffs

5: Fed Ex Cup Playoffs (4) -- Barclays-Westchester, BMW Championship (ex-Western Open), Deutsche Bank, Tour Championship

2007 Fall Series Events

7 Open events - each using PGA Tour Exemption Categories
Top 125 Money Winners eligible for these

Turning Stone Resort, Viking Classic at Annadale (ex SFB), Valero Texas, Frys-Las Vegas, Frys-Scottsdale, Running Horse-Fresno, Funai-Disney
