Nick O'Hern in a play off
In a thrilling finish to the Australian PGA Championship Nick O'Hern holed out from a greenside bunker on the third play off hole to defeat Peter Lonard. Scoring was hot at this event with birdies and eagles plentiful. O'Hern missed a two foot putt on the 72nd to create the play off. O'Herns last victory was the 1999 Coolum Classic played at this venue so congratulations go to this ever consistent performer. He is full time on the USPGA Tour in 2007 so watch his results with interest.

I'm with you there...I can't bring myself to like anyone who uses those cheat sticks. Congrats to Nick though.

Long putter...schmong putter...you still have to line it up and hope it falls. I'm sure you guys have no problem with those 460cc drivers though!

I always liked Nick (partly cos he's lefty!) and I'm glad he won finally. He was beginning to become Harrington-esque with his 2nd place finishes

In a very strange twist to the play off both players, O'Hern and Peter Lonard, are both users of the broomstick putters.
