As some of you know, today is my 31st birthday. I'll spend it quietly with family and friends, but Elin and I have more exciting news to share: We are expecting our first child this summer.

Obviously, we couldn't be happier and our families are thrilled. I have always wanted to be a dad. I just wish my father could be around to share the experience.

I'm going to stick close to home for the next few weeks. As I said on my website Friday, I'm going to start my 2007 PGA Tour season at the Buick Invitational in late January, which will allow Elin and I to spend more time with our families during this very special time in our lives.

Our best wishes to everyone for a great 2007!

Thats cool! i predict that their relationship is gonna be like jack nicklaus and his son jacky. little tiger will prolly caddy for daddy when he's older.

I just realized that his announcement doesn't say anywhere that they know what they're having. They could have a daughter, don't rule that out...

Yep, went and voted. Good idea for the poll. I think 'boy' will win so I had to cast my vote for us guys that have daughters ...who knows, there could be a little Miss Woods tearing up the LPGA here in a couple of decades...
