Champion 2007 - Challenger ???

Assuming Tiger continues his dominance for season 2007, it is opportune time to speculate on who will challenge 'the great man' in the upcoming season.

I believe Ernie will produce the goods and that Sergio will provide many highlights. The Aussies will again 'be there' but I do not expect overall brilliance, rather a lot of consistent performances. Another European who will feature in the Majors is David Howell. Any thoughts ???? Happy New Year.

I'd probably go with Jim Furyk.

That's my guess , too. He's overcome disappointment before. I think many forget how well he was playing before his meltdown on 18 at the US Open. I think he'll bounce back.

Jim Furyk is my favorite tour pro, so of course I think he will be up there.

I agree with wazman on Phil, he'll be back strong. I also look for a strong showing from Geoff Ogilvy. Dark horse would be Villegas.

Any one of them can get on a hot streak, as well as Els, Goosen, Singh, and DiMarco. I'm thinking Els is about to have a break through season, he's due.

I also think Trevor Immelman will give him a run. Maybe not consistently throughout the year, but in at least one major.

like many others i fancy Immelman to make a good account of himself, with Furyk still playing his game and being in contention most weeks also.
