"Rory Sabbatini, who has a reputation for intolerance toward slow play, was on the 12th green when he heard Chris Couch's drive came down the slope and onto the green. Sabbatini glared at the marshal for allowing the group behind to tee off."
Yeah, so could it be because you were PLAYING TOO SLOW, Sabbo ? He can dish it, but he can't take it ...

Not having people drive into the group ahead is common courtesy, and really has nothing to do with speed of play. Your post doesn't say if Sabbatini's group was playing slow, or if it was held up by the group in front of them, or if Couch was in error by teeing too soon. But I guess it makes a better post to assume the worse about Sabbatini.
I like Sabatinni. He used to wear U.S. Marine camo pants for the first two rounds in support of the troops until the Tour asked him to stop. How unpatriotic of the Tour, huh?
Maybe he had them on and nobody actually saw him on the green... :)

How can he be playing too slow if he's on the green of a par 4 and the group behind them is on the tee?

He wasn't...Rory hit a nerve with viewers when he behaved poorly playing with Ben Crane...now they will punish him for it by never letting it go. The hole was driveable and, just as Tiger should have when he did it, whoever hit the drive should've waited. General rule of thumb: if it's even remotely possible you'll hit into someone, don't hit...especially if it's stacked up ahead, you gain nothing but enemies. Now, what are the odds that there'll be a bottleneck on a reachable par 4?

Yeah, I actually saw it go down - I was just looking to inject a little logic into the subject. And actually now that I think about it, I remember he kind of waved his hands to the guy who hit it as if to say "Forget about it," almost like it was a joke.
