VJ leading the field in putting

In this tournament he's currently #1 in putting and about average in GIR. Usually it would be the other way around, he's the one you would expect to be hitting all the greens but only average in putting. He did miss a 5-footer for par early in the round, but on the other hand dropped a 52-foot bomb on the 8th hole. When he's actually making his putts he's a scary dude to have to contend with.

Going with the belly putter has really seemed to help him. His putter looks similar in length to the one I use, and he uses it in the same way. Although VJ is not my favorite, I put him ahead of Phil, and I like the competition he brings when he's playing well. I think him winning a few tourneys this year, maybe even a major, would be a good thing, as he only has 2-3 more years at this level of play.

I wonder what his average 1st putt length is. I imagine it's right up there. He's hit quite a few pretty close.

Putting has been his downfall. The best he has done is with the belly putter. If he maintains this trend he will be a real threat. The rest of his game is killer.

He has made some way long ones too. I have thought he was going to not save par on several holes now and I will be danged if he dosen't just drown those putts.

He did the same a couple years back in the Buick Open against Tiger, just kept dropping the 15 footers and won by 3. I like VJ, hopefully he wins
