Medical necessity notwithstanding, the bandage is a smart move:
If she finishes last again, then it must have been because of injury,
If she makes the cut or comes close, then how heroic of her to "play through the pain", kind of like Curt Schilling with the bloody sock in the World Series
Wonder how school has been, and if she got in some good practice over the holidays?
She did spend a couple of weeks with Leadbetter, and hopefully that has made some things better.

Don't worry about fairways. She only hit 6 of 14 fairways in round 2 of the 2006 Sony and still shot 68. In round 1 she hit 8 fairways and shot 79.
Contrary to what some would like to believe, she is plenty strong out of pga rough. She does fine as long as there isn't a tree or something in the way.
Putting, that's a good question.

On Thursday, she will be nearly finished her round when they come on.
On Friday, if she is near the cut line, she will get huge coverage, or even if she wasn't and shot a great round like 2006 round 2, she would get shown quite a bit on the golf channel.
"Michelle Wie becomes the first female to compete in a Fed-Ex Cup event. Yes that is right lady's and gentlemen.. we are at the second Fed-Ex Cup event. Fed-Ex Cup Fed-Ex Cup Fed-Ex Cup Fed-Ex Cup Fed-Ex Cup Fed-Ex Cup Fed-Ex Cup Fed-Ex Cup Fed-Ex Cup!"
As for Wie, I don't dislike her.. just wish the PGA would be men-only and LPGA would be for women-only. I can't blame her for wanting to compete with the best in the world, but she can't even win on the ladies tour. It's getting old.
Last week was such a pleasure. No Woods, No Wie, just golf.
I enjoy watching both of them but it was a nice change of pace not seeing the skewed focus the coverage of them usually brings. The venue didn't hurt either.

Difference being, of course, Tiger gets the coverage because he's nearly always contending, if not leading and/or lapping the field.
Only 2 or 3 times a year does the player in last place get airtime...
