Who, apart from Woods do you fancy to take a Major this year.

ok, i think its a fair certainty Woods wins atleast one.
so, who apart from tiger (Tiger may take all 4 if hes in the mood) takes one of the 4 Majors this year.
name 5 players.

Jimenez (more than capable if hes having a good week on the greens)
DiMarco (why not?)
Garcia (can he?)
Olazabal (Perhaps the Masters, if the best of Tiger doesn't show up)
Harrington (he should be there or there about's in atleast one of the Majors)

Obvious choice would be Mickelson, but does the real Mickelson turn up this year in the Majors?

I'm not sure. I doubt that Garcia will ever win a major as long as Tiger is in the field. We seen what happened to Sergio when he was paired with El Tigre during The Open Championship and it wasn't pretty.

I would say that DiMarco has a realistic shot at a major. I would say that Augusta is his best bet considering his recent play there.

Maybe this is something to think about...Tiger's baby is due this summer...about the time that the majors get into full swing. I'm guessing that he'd rather be at the birth of his child rather than play so it's entirely possible that he may not play in one of the summer's majors this year. Either The Open Championship or the PGA Championship.

We definitely can't rule out VJ or Furyk either.

But having said that...I'm predicting that El Tigre will be the first man in history to win the modern day Grand Slam. He wants to put to rest the "Tiger Slam". It seems that the Tiger Slam wasn't good enough for some. JMO

Who is the real Phil ? There is the "good" Phil and the "bad" Phil. The former showed up in last years Masters and both showed up in the US Open. Then the "good" Phil went on vacation. I expect that we'll see some of both this year as usual. I'll go with the usual suspects -

Phil
Ernie
Goose
Sergio
Furyk

...
I think he'll play in them all unless Elin is delivering during one of them. In any case, it will be a real test of his ability to focus. I wonder if they'll travel with him. I know that when I had my first, I wanted to be with her all of the time.

Ernie will win a major.
Vijay will win a major.
Padraig will win a major.
Colin will win a major.

Tiger will be a doting father and loving husband and will miss the US Open, due to the closeness of the birth of his baby.
Then he will miss the Open Championship in order to spend more time with his family. He will come back for the pga champsionship, but his game will have a bit of rust which will stop him winning.

Isn't Tiger's baby due the week after the US Open?
Women are often early with their first baby. If the baby is born, during or just before the US Open, or even if she is just heavily pregnant, Tiger's mind could be elsewhere for that event.

Tiger will win the Masters (it is so, setup for his game)

Luke Donald will win the US Open
Ernie Els will win the British Open

*** Luke may win the British Open and Ernie may win the US Open ***

Tiger will win the PGA

I don't know what the odds are, but Tiger will not win all 4 majors this year. His life is already changing and he may need to learn how best to handle them in the coming 12 months.

I really think Tiger would like to make up for the '06 Open, the only missed cut in his majors career. He will be so focused on that the only possible thing that could get his mind off it would be if the baby is born that week.

I think Adam Scott is due for a major, and Chris Dimarco.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Trevor Immelman or Ernie Els. I think Immelman has the swing and mental approach to be amongst the elite players in the game. Ernie just needs to find his form.

Are you practicing your speed reading again, ce-me ? I had Els and Inconsistent has Immelman. In fact a few folks picked Ernie.
