Yes... hey I really like the guy, but father time has a habit of doing away with the romanticism of going through life as a chain-smoking, obese drunk.

Washed up and done before 40 and dead by his mid 50s... and he was an exception. The Mick could tell you something about being the perpetual party boy and it's affect on ones game... if he were still around.

Of course time catches up with guys like this...but you said time does away with the romanticism. How many people still, today, adore both of the dead washed-up drunks you speak of?

Millions, no doubt. Big John has the ability for continued success for years to come ...he could even re-vitalize the "Champions" tour when his time comes. I'd like to see him achieve both, but I don't think it will happen unless he makes some changes in his life. Either way his life & times will also be a fond memory for millions. It will just be a much shorter story/memory if he continues down this road, IMO.

Time catches ALL of us.

Knocking JD doesn't make your game better than HIS! Just your opinion, I guess. Good Luck!

I doubt that all the research done on the effects of consistent heavy drinking, smoking and obesity and their links to the multitude of problems they cause which shorten a human's lifespan amounts to an "opinion." I wish him luck in fighting his troubles...he'll need all the help he can get for us to be celebrating his first Champion's Tour win someday before reading of his death in the sports section.

There were some rumors last year about JD having a heart-attack last year. What happened to those? I assume they were untrue?

I think he is in for a good season and I would rank him top 30. Fitness and good health is the key.

I don't know about teh top 30, but definitely the top 125 and retaining his card and full privileges for next year. At the Sony he seemed to concentrating a bit more. I don't think it will be either glory or rock bottom like it has been.
