Well, being that "home" is Baltimore Area, football is definitly the primary tv viewing tomorrow but I gotta say, I will be clicking the remote to see how young Tadd is faring. I really hope he plays just as well tomorrow and confounds all the naysayers.
Does he have naysayers as well? It takes all kinds.
Its funny how everyone is hyping Tadd's made cut as such a big accomplishment.
Perhaps you can explain to us why it isn't a big accomplishment?

Kind of like you're doing here?

345 yard drive on 18, short hitting? As for her "dominating" him in junior golf, aside from the local qualifier she beat him in, when have they ever played in the same event?
The nice thing about Tadd's accomplishment, is that unlike Wie that was preceeded with so much hype and still is considering the lack luster showings, Tadd's was accomplished under the radar with almost no pre-tournament publicity.

Tell me.......How many years has it been since Wie dominated anyone in Junior golf? Wie would be well served to heed Satchel Paige's famous advice, "Don't look back. Someone may be gaining on you!" You obviously did not see Tadd Fujikawa play or you wouldn't have made your "short-hitting kid" remark. Tiny he is......short he is not. The kid has game and heart and he demonstrated that by playing the last three holes in -3 after a bogie on #15 put him in danger of missing the cut. We've yet to see such a performance from a certain vastly more famous/hyped Hawaiian.
Young Tadd crashed Wie's party and brought confidence, a fresh new face, and lots of game with him. I hope he has a great weekend.
FWIW, even Tadd says he's not nearly as long as his competitors on the tour. He's long enough for this venue and will no doubt get much longer. But don't read too much into the yardages he had some others are hitting it here. They're getting a ton of roll and cutting corners.

Very true - distances always balloon in Hawaii, be it due to course conditions or strong winds.

It is big, but its not that amazing. Michelle Wie could do the same thing.

And Michelle would qualify too if she had to. I am just saying Tadd's junior record is a joke compared to Michelle's. Yet Michelle's is the one that is constantly bashed. It just shows you having tons of junior experience isn't the end all and be all of being able to make it on the PGA Tour, something which needs to get through the heads of most people who critize Michelle Wie.

If Tadd's accomplishment is a fluke, we should know in due course.

His ball landed on a downslope in the rough and got a bounce of at least 20 yards, and then rolled a good 30 more. It was down-wind too, which helps. I am just saying hes short compared to the tour average, but he is pretty long for his size and age.
Halftime at football, I look and Tadd is -7, tied for 5th! Good gosh - no matter where he ends up, he must be walking on air. How exciting to see a kid do this!
What does an amateur get as a prize (if anything) for placing in a profesional golf tourney? I guess he can't take the money without losing his amatuer status, so does he get a trophy or just bragging rights? What happens to his prize money? Does it get rolled back into the purse and split amongst the pros? Donated to charity of his choice?

The prize money is given as if he weren't playing.
If he got 7th place outright and someone else got 8th place outright.
They would give the prizemoney to the 8th place guy as if he had 7th place outright, and so on for other players.
