Forget about Wie...How about that Tadd Fujikawa !!

Hey, Tadd Fujikawa is what, 15, and he shot a 1-over 71! If you recall, he played in the U.S. Open last year. The top of his head probably comes up to Wie's shoulder.

yeah i think i remember seeing him a bit on the first day at the U.S. Open, but there wasn't all that much talk about him, and whenever his name was mentioned, Wie's name came up straight after even though she was nowhere to be seen on the day. here's hoping he can make the cut and have a decent weekend.

This is sad. 1 post besides my original regarding any excitement about Tad Fujikawa, who has already at 15 had more success as an amateur in making it to the US Open and played 8 strokes better than the older Michelle Wie at the Sony, yet Wie gets a gadzillion of posts.

Fujikawa is 5-1, 135 pounds, but he says he can drive the ball on average 280 yards. He was a premature baby and weighed 1 pound, 15 ounces at birth. The doctors gave him a 50% chance of living.

He was a fun story to follow last year in the shadows of his fellow Hawaiian...hopefully as he matures in his game and continues to have success, he'll start getting a little more recognition. Although...being the "other" Hawaiian phenom, away from the spotlight probably helps his progress a bit...

This kid is a great talent and he is much more deserving of the attention given to Michelle. I know that this was probably answered on some post somewhere already, but...

Why in the world would his parents name him Tadd?

That's like my parents calling me Gutt or Belly or Jabba...JABBA THE GUTT! lol I crack myself up sometimes.

Funny final pairing: Tadd v Wie (get it? is this thing on?)

That deserves a "small" laugh!

Maybe he'll end up with a nickname like "Stretch"!
