Did anyone watch the half-hour special on The Win Zone?
Can someone please tell me what in the world the point of The Win Zone is?
Ok, so some computer can calculate odds based on a players career statistics. But after each hole and round the player records, the Win Zone percentage adjusts. Big deal.
The Win Zone is so meaningless, I can't believe TGC is wasting their time discussing it.

Yes isn't that ridiculus, does the win zone tell you that under pressure you may triple bogey the next hole?

I agree with your sentiments. And although I have sat through all TGC informercials at least twice at this point, I didn't give that half-hour special 15 seconds of my time: I couldn't get to the remote fast enough!
It's the $$$$, they get paid for advertising time . . . I could only watch a few minutes of this thinly-disguised info-mercial.
It isn't quite clear from the Win Zone usage during the Golf Channel's PGA coverage who is benefiting monetarily from it? Isn't this a service they are trying to provide to the viewers that Golf Channel is paying for? I haven't noticed that it is sponsored. It isn't the Winn Zone yet is it?
No value. I thought "whaa ??" the first time I heard them mention these so-called odds. Since then it just goes in one ear and out the other if I happen to have it on at the time.
I actually watched the whole half hour special the other day while I was on my computer and I couldn't help but laugh. About halfway through the round Paul Goydos only had a 1 or 2% chance at winning when he was only a shot or two behind Luke and Howell III and he ended up winning.
I've been studying this very carefully. Now from what I can gather, the higher one is on the leaderboard at any given time, the greater their chances are to ultimately win the tournament. Is that about right ? Who knew ?
Two weeks in a row now someone with no chance at all ( according to win zone ) has won. Its time to discard winzone for something more meaninful, like golf coverage.

The Win Zone did not give Charlie Hoffman and Paul Goydos any chance of winning. This Win Zone is laughable **** and a huge embarrassment that ought to be pulled by The Golf Channel asap!
During the Bob Hope Tourney, Mickelson was something like 6 or 7 strokes back after the 2nd round (I think) and the win zone had him as having the 2nd highest chance of winning. ???? Is the computer *?
