Rocco

I was wondering if Rocco Mediate being on the golf channel now means he will be decreasing his playing time significantly. Always respected him as a player and was just curious as to his plans.

I've wondered that as well! I like his insight as to what's going on. I haven't heard what's going on as far as him doing the on-course reporting though. Maybe he's going to pick and choose which tournaments he wants to play and in the mean time make some serious cash commentating.

I think he does a great job also. One of the few shining stars in their crew so far IMO.

I think he's smart. Given the opportunity, why not take the other side of the microphone, take the security, pick your spots, rest your back, and wait till you turn the big 5O.

Go Roc

He does have a minor medical exemption for the 2007 Tour season (ten events).

Agreed, I always thought he was a good comentator even when he was playing. He has a quick wit and never at a loss for words.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush though. It's hard to miss a cut holding a microphone!

I'm not sure how many tournaments he'll be working. Heck, I didn't even know he'd be doing any on-course commentating until I saw him on TV.

If you remember last year's Masters, Rocco has in contention until the third round when he experienced back problems. He still had a shot going into the fourth round until he scored a 10 on one of holes in the back nine.

My guess is Rocco still wants to play golf but if he can't he's preparing himself for life after golf by working on the golf channel. Personally I enjoy his demeanor and commentary and I wish him the best whatever path he chooses to follow.
