Golf Channel...don't tell me we have to watch golf on this from now on, PLEASE NO!!

It's so dry. It's all televised from a long distance lenses....you don't here the swish of clubs, the smack of the ball, the swoosh. And the announcers are as dry as saltine crackers without the cheese. Nick Faldo...geesh. The girl announcer asks what do you think about Phil's chances to move to striking distance....(Nick):"well...he's been making birdies and eagles....but his over-pars are deflating his chances to make a move". Yea, I know that. I don't need a PGA tour guy to tell me that....any person off the street can give that type of assessment. It's not the same as the Networked Channel televised golf coverage by a long shot.

Sorry for the rant....but completely un-enthused about the new coverage, even considering we've been burried in ice/snow for over a week now in OK (and you'd think I'd be excited about anything golf).
I agree with you. I just purchased TGC last week and I'm not that impressed with the coverage and all the technical difficulties they've been having.

I'm not complaining, though, since it only costing me $3. It's better than no golf.

I think I am only having a problem with that music video at the beginning...

FEELS SO GOOOOOOD!

Ugh. Is this going to be the intro for the next 15 years?

I've had the same thought... and they keep talking about how great it sounds... um, I don't THINK so. I may have to train myself to mute it at the beginning. I'm not into that pop-type country stuff. Is the guy who does it somebody noteworthy ?

Never heard of him.

You would think that with the ratings they got last week, the coverage would have been geared more towards the hardcore fan.

I am getting in a little late on this thread but I agree.....Too many amateurs were covered. If I wanted to watch that I would video myself.

The worst was when they showed an overhead of the swing of some CEO with a 20-something handicap. Pretty gruesome.

Was that the one where he missed the grass entirely?

It was hard to tell what he hit, if anything. It reminded me of what an elephant might look like taking a bath from above.. lurching and flailing his trunk(the club) back and forth. Faldo started to add some commentary and then thought better of it.

3 things I don't like about the season so far:
1) FedEx Cup being over marketed. I've heard enough already. The event isn't gonna happen for 9 months. I don't even think the format will be successful. The points are at odd increments. Finchem, if you hear me, I got a better idea for this FedUp...er...FedEx cup of yours.

2) Win Zone. What is the purpose for it? Fantasy golf? Sports betting? If I knew what it's purpose is maybe I would get into it more. Until then, it's stupid.

3) That song "Feels Like it Should" is driving me CRAZY! Why does golf have to be associated with country songs? Is it because the PGA is using the Nascar points format? Play something else already! I enjoy the Nationwide Tour because they have a variety of songs that they play on their telecast. If that song is gonna be playing for the rest of the year, I predict a sharp drop in the ratings.

1) I agree. I will use UPS from now on just because.

2) Betting, I guess. Remember the article in Digest where the guy had a similar formula.

3) Sadly, I find myself singing that song.

Is there anywhere you can place bets in the middle of a round, though ? I suppose that there are places that might take just about any sort of action. I'm not a gambler.
