I had a brush with fame today...

Just finished hitting a bag of balls at the range today, and went to drain (or try to) a few putts, and Natalie Gulbis was working on her putting stroke one hole over. That was very nice sight indeed!

Not quite sure what that means but I guarantee phrased that way she wouldn't take it that well...

Too bad for you that it was not a literal brush (or pat or perhaps squeeze) with fame...

No doubt...I am sure she NEVER gets uninvited advances...BTW after seeing her in one of those tv events (I think it was the LPGA vs the PGA vs the Champions tour) she needs some work on her putting uninterrupted...

She was very nice and polite to those who went up to her and said hello, but you could tell she was there to work...

LOL, not bad...did you do/say anything to acknowledge her?

Not to hijack the thread, but I had a similar occurence last year in San Antonio, on the Westin LaCantera Resort practice area before a round. There was a tall young African-american fellow on the range, which the cart boy said was a player from the San Antonio Spurs...well, I didn't recognize him (not that I would know him unless he's one of the starters). There was also another man, just as tall but older and distinguished looking (kinda like Julius Erving with grey hair)....he went over to speak to the younger man. I surmised he must be perhaps a mentor, or previous older generation player. I went to the putting/chipping green for about half hour to which the older man came back and worked on his putting. I couldn't help notice the big, leather bag with a big bold brassy/gold engraved name plate: George "The Iceman" Gervin. He was a nice gentleman, friendly as I sent my putt back and forth past him and his bag, and I could tell the way he went back to talk to the younger Spurs player that he must be 'somebody'? But to my misfortune, I didn't even know who that was....until I got home and looked it up on the internet....geesh, he ranks up there with Wilt Chamberlain and I didn't even recognize the name!!!
