Anyone who has a well-defined personality and some characteristics that separate them from the boring, white, conservative, WASP middle-American stereotypical no-personality golfer.

Poulter, Parnevik, Villegas, Katayama - guys who push the limits of sensibility in golf fashion, anybody who is outstanding because of eccentric personality

Vijay (Fiji), K.J. Choi (Korea), Shigeki Maruyama (Japan), Michael Campbell (Maori/Kiwi), Olazabal (Spain) Daniel Chopra (India) ...the list goes on ... anybody who throws a different ethnicity and nationality into the mix

Americans who have some kind of authentic "Good-old-boy" / redneck credentials (they didn't grow up on the country club). John Daly (for obvious reasons), Bubba Watson (because his name is "Bubba", of course), Kenny Perry - he's a very smart and decent man but also likes drag racing and NASCAR... a bunch of guys are like that

Almost all Aussie golfers, I don't know why but their presence and attitude just seems very positive, they are also the biggest new wave of talent to come from any nation

UK golfers representing the birthplace of golf and the sport as "properly" played but include a cast of characters as well.
Els and Goosen, pair of Afrikaner major champions and cool customers

Anyone who has some kind of eccentric swing or 'patented' technique that is special to their own game, left-handed players, Lefty's amazing / bizarre short game shots, the Villegas "Spider-Man" move, Furyk's spastic swing, anyone who has unusual habits or superstitions

Tiger, Tiger, Tiger ... essential element, the guy who single-handedly changed the face of golf in the last decade. We don't want to see coverage of him 24/7 but he's got to be in the picture somewhere

You've got to be kidding! Now, I'll grant you Phil has been one of the best golfers on the PGA Tour for the past five or six seasons. But he didn't win any majors until 2004. There is no way he's as good as Tiger. Mentally Tiger is light years ahead of him. Physically Tiger is just a better athlete. And despite all his success how many player of the year awards or money titles has he won compared to Tiger? I just don't see how you can say Phil is as good as Tiger.

1. Tiger - He just takes golf to a whole different level when he's on his game. It's just awesome to see the game played so well.

2. Ernie Els - I love his swing and personality.

3. Trevor Immelman - I also like his swing. I think he's one the best young golfers in the world.

4. Vijay Singh - I respect his work ethic and he knows how to close the deal when he's in contention.

5. Jim Furyk- The guy plays smart consistent golf.

Tiger - Would watch him anytime.
Sergio - I think he is talented and is going to be a major force soon
Phil - I just like his style and attitude.
and Annika - Maybe the classiest golfer of them all......

David Toms? That seems like an odd man to single out. By most accounts, he seems like a really nice fellow and it's not like he's had some tremendous success to make people have a distaste for him. Did you have a bad personal experience with him?

Outside of Tiger I've always been a huge fan of JD and Jesper "Don't Call Me Jesper" Parnevik.

I know what you mean... it doesn't apply to Toms for me, but I understand. Like maybe you knew a guy you couldn't stand that looks like him... kind of thing.
