I had never heard of Ross Marcano until noticing that he finished last in the Bob Hope (at 32 over par after 4 rounds, 18 strokes worse than the next-to-last player). If he had somehow been allowed to play the final round we can project that he would have been at least 57 strokes off the lead.

Sooo ... I noticed that he is scheduled to tee off at 10:30 AM tomorrow in the Buick Invitational. Is this correct, and how does he qualify / get invited to these tournaments? It will be interesting to see since he'll probably do even worse on the more difficult layouts at Torrey Pines.

Two ways of looking at it: if he qualifies for these fair-and-square then more power to him, why not act out his dream given a rare chance to do so? Or on the other hand, a glutton for punishment - 32 over in the Bob Hope wasn't sufficient. If I received such an invitation my scores would be even more hideous so I would feel more out-of-place than honored
