Funny how golf is

I just love it when one of the pro golfers is standing in the middle of the fairway on a 560 yard par five hitting his second shot into the green with like a 5 iron. I love the reaction when they only hit it within like 40 feet of the hole. The look of disgust! If I was ever able to do that I would spend the next half hour on my cell phone calling all my friends. Gotta love golf.

I know what you mean, that's why they're professionals though. I was playing yesterday and almost hit the green in 2 on a 549 yard hole. My drive was amazing, a nice little draw down the center of the fairway and got a pretty generous roll. I figured I'd go for it just for the **** of it so I waited for the guys to leave the green and pulled my 3 wood. I hit an ALMOST perfect shot and just drawed it a little too much, pin length, about 15 yards to the left of the green. Sadly that left me in a little gully that is about 10 feet below the pin but I was able to chip it up and get a par.

Sorry I didn't make it clear enough, I chipped it up onto the green (which was my 3rd shot), and 2 putted for par.

If you would have had a Nike SV Tour Wedge, you would have prob made a birdie!

Haha it's all good, I'm loving my CG11. I'll check out the SV Tour though when I go to replace my 60* sometime.

Like civicracer said, that's why they're professionals. When the tournament's on the line, and they're coming into the finishing stretch, having a 40+ footer for eagle just doesn't cut it for them....not for me though, any chance I get for eagle, I'm pretty darn happy

Funny how a perfect drive and well hit 3 wood stick in the memory and seem to carry more weight than a good chip and putt do but have the same effect on a score...problem with hitting a 3 wood from 250 or so is that you better have a good short game because odds are at our level you are going to come up in the vicinity of the green as often as actually on which does not help if you don't trust your short game...better off laying up to your favorite (94 or 106 for me) and wedging in...
