Here's a poll. Who are you rooting for tomorrow? Personally, I am going for Ernie Els because I want to see competition for that #1 spot. Plus, Phil already won one that broke Ernie's heart. He's played well in the Masters and the first 3 rounds and I think it would be great to see him win the Open. I also hope Tiger makes a run tomorrow but I think he's way too far off to win. I really want to see a Tiger/Ernie battle the rest of the year. I think it's a couple years due.
I'm glad your poll asked who am I rooting for rather than who do I pick for the last round. I can't pick a winner in any sport. If I pick em, it's almost a sure bet they will not even show. I am rooting for Fred Funk for strictly emotional reasons. I really like his personality and would really enjoy hanging out with him. However, I pick Els for the win (hope I didn't jinx him).

I am rooting for Phil , but I'd be happy with nearly any of the other candidates here. I'm not very enthusiastic about Retief, only because he is such a bland sort of fellow, whose win wouldn't do much for the popularity of the game. The best duel for golf would be an Ernie-Phil rematch of the Masters, but Funk and Maruyama have outgoing personalities that would make either an attractive winner.
I have to go with Phil also. I have been a fan of his since i started playing this sport 8 yrs ago. Hopefully he can keep it together and pull this one in!!!!!
I'd like to see Phil win. My second choice will be Ernie. I think these two are great examples for our younger players on how to play the game and act on the course and off the course.
I wanna see Weir win, only because he's the Canadian left in contention. If not Mike though, i'd like to see Phil take it.
Can you guys imagine if through his whole career he didn't win a major, Phil went and did a grand slam.
I doubt a modern day Grand Slam (all 4 Majors in the same year) will ever happen. Way too much pressure, different courses, and too much talent out there. Not impossible by any means...but highly improbable. JMHO
Yeah, Phil erred badly on 17 and handed the tournament to Retief. Actually, Retief made so darn many 6-foot one-putts that I couldn't believe it! Those long par putts that he made really won it for him. Tee to green, I think Phil was the better player, but Retief really made the clutch putts and Phil didn't.
