Looks like the golf gods were smiling down on Mark Wilson. What a gentleman, professional, and a tribute to true sportsmanlike conduct typical for players of PGA Tour. On Friday, he self-imposed the 2 stroke penalty due to his caddie inadvertantly giving informative tip to another player (Villegos)and his caddie. I thought Boo Weekley was going to win, but jangled nerves caused him to miss his putt, and pitting 4 golfers in a playoff Mon. morning. Mark was able to pull off the eventual win! Looks like his karma came back to reward him.
I was at the tournament on Friday and the winds definitely played havoc with the play. The course looked to be in great shape, and it appeared the golfers felt challenged.
Agreed, a class act...assuming he doesn't fire his caddie now that it's over. I especially enjoyed the discussions/rapport between the two before each shot. Obviously, Wilson was the final decision maker, but he clearly solicited, listened to, and respected the input from his caddie. That was a professional team. Excellent example of course management, too. I just wish more broadcasts had this kind of inside-the-ropes stuff.

Based on his remarks ( I make far more mistakes than Chris ), I think his caddie's job is secure. They looked to be a true team to me.

I enjoyed watching the team of Wilson and his caddy also. But, somehow I have listened to Phil Mickelson and his caddy Bones (over-)discussing an approach shot a few times too many, so I am not sure that I want to see that every week!
Good player is Mark Wilson. Very consistant and will be in contention again. Great to see a tough course on tour. The tough get tougher on a course like that and as soon as we can get away from 'target golf' the better!

This week will be more of the same in Tampa. But I also like to see them get away from ...Driver -wedge, driver-wedge
Oh yeah, a little bit every week. Not every shot, not every golfer...maybe mic up one or two groups and "pop in" on them occasionally when they have a particularly interesting shot. Beats the heck out of listening to someone in the booth--ex-player or not--try to tell me what somebody is or isn't thinking in a given situation.

Yeah, I was rooting for him at that point, especially that he'd be able to acquit himself in the playoffs, but then I heard the Wilson/caddie story and I switched my allegiance.
Trouble with Boo is, that kind of gaff can have long-term consequences...but I hope not.

Spot on Bolt Fore. I might sound old fashioned in my comments but the game is becoming a bore to watch on the easier courses. I just can't wait to see the authorities step in and defeat the manufacturers and reduce the distance that the ball flies.
I was really happy that a class act won that tournament. Wilson showed class, courage, and determination that I wish more showed on the course. Kudos deserved for sure!
