Sergio is not a bad player, quite the contrary - he has never lived up to his potential and is certainly not as solid of a player as he was a few years ago. This is primarily due to a balkey putter. But, as many tour veterans will attest, you can be lousy most of the time, as long as you get hot a couple of weeks a year - it will earn you high finishes or wins, which is better than playing mediocre the entire year - mediocre consistency on tour is not rewarded, but Duffy Waldorf et al can be very successful by getting one or two high finishes a year.

Tiger would beat sergio 7 out of 10 times. The stomping would be ferocious 4-5 of those times, and would be close match the other 2-3 times, with Sergio winning narrowly the other 3 times. This is a match play scenario of course.

Don't get me wrong, I like Sergio in general - I think he is good for the game, but he has never matured fully into his capabilities.

I agree with that he has never matured into his full capabilities......but he is still young and I feel once he gets a putter going he is gonna be a strong force anywhere he plays.......But 7/10 times are you nuts.....Tiger maybe would beat him 1/10 times

I agree with green15's post in its entirety. If El Niņo would put as much time into course management and putting as he does into wardrobe selection perhaps he'd realize more of his potential.

I can't stand Sergio. I know a caddy on the Tour and he said he's a real jerk. He's like a whiney little 10-year old. I just cannot stand the guy. He couldnt carry Tiger's jockstrap.

They are all pushing for the new fashion, and what better way to market your product than putting it on a PGA tour star?

Yeah we can argue about this all day long atleast I could......In my eyes I dont see tiger beating serigo in a match play format.......Until tiger woods steps up and does something for us in the Ryder Cup I am gonna keep saying it.......Tried of the boys across the pond keeping the cup.....

Speaking of whinny 10y/o didnt tiger cry and treaten to go the european tour cause his caddy couldnt wear shorts.

Try posting an opinion about his golf and not his personal life.

Why does Tiger have to be the one to do it? How many times have we heard about the young talent on the Ryder Cup team and how it will help us tremendously, only to have them do almost nothing?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Tiger is a matchplay god, but Sergio's good matchplay record comes from have the talent around him to win regardless of what he does. A luxury of which Tiger doesn't have.

I have heard his whininess is legendary, and that he has never hit a bad shot that was his fault. I have no proof, just rumors.

Regardless, he is still a heck of a ball striker.
