Question Masters 2007 Purse: Any News?

Greetings ...

Masters Sunday will be SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST, no doubt

Did spring cleaning much of Saturday. Turned off TV after 3rd round ended, and only at 1:00 am Sunday Morning was I back online, as I took my computer set-up apart, then re-assembled it.

I was unable to find out if there had been an announcement of the Masters Purse, which Augusta usually does after Saturday's 3rd Round. So this was originally posted to see if someone out there knew the answer.

Now, hours later, various online source have confirmed the news.

The Augusta National has announced the 2007 Masters Purse -- it is $7.25 million, with 1st place worth $1,305,000. If all 60 pros in the current field finish out the event, the actual PAID total would be $7,098,975.

Admittedly, I was expecting a figure of at least $7.50-million ($1.35-m 1st), if not $8.00-million ($1.44-m 1st).

Thanx-A-Lot, Enjoy and Happy Easter from Frank-0-Sport

A 3.5% pay raise seems to roughly match the cost-of-living increase that us regular folks may receive this year. I do not expect a walk-off / strike today!

Greetings ...

In one of my "alternate realities", it would be a $10.6-million purse, with $1.8-million to the winner and $60,000 for last place.

If only it could be!

Thanx-A-Lot, Frank-0-Sport
