Well, I may have found somewhat definitive information on whether or not the irons Tiger plays are forged by Miura or not. I posted an article about Miura in the Golf Equipment forum.
Tiger Woods, the world's top-ranked golfer, who is paid about $20 million a year to endorse Nike equipment, said at a news conference last month that he never has used Miura clubs or met Miura himself. Beth Gast, a spokeswoman for Nike Inc.'s golf division, said in an e-mail that Miura never has made clubs for the Beaverton, Oregon-based company.
Miura said in an e-mail that he has made wedges for Nike, and his company's Web site says that in the late 1990s he forged irons for Woods under the Titleist name, then a Woods sponsor.
Miura, who won't comment directly about Woods, made 500 sets of limited-edition Tiger Woods Titleist models exclusively for the Japanese market in the late 1990s, Holowaty said.
As I read the posts about Miura and the implication that Woods' blades are manufactured by Miura and not Nike, my thoughts turned toward a class action against Nike by all persons who purchased Nike blades thinking they are what Tiger plays. Sure seems to be a violation of California Business and Professions Code 17200.
It's kind of funny that Tiger uses the SV wedges when nike designed a series of wedges for him and called them the TW line....that tells me a little bit about those wedges
Yes I think this is Fraud on the part of Nike and Tiger Woods and I believe the story since that Greg Norman Scam was confirmed. I'm sure there are many people who bought Nike Clubs particularly the younger crowd because they want to use what Tiger does. So what will we find out next that he uses Bridgestone Balls with Nike stamped on them.
Nike and Tiger need to be called out on this. This whole deception common practice or not needs to stop.
Lol maybe I should buy cheap clones and put Taylormade stickers on them.
With all of the customizations available in golf equipment these days, I don't think it's feasible to think that you're playing the exact same clubs as Tiger or anyone else. Those players play what's fitted to them as should you. It would be pretty dumb for someone to buy a set of blades just because that's what Tiger plays. I don't get what the fuss is about.
Also, that cited article says that Tiger doesn't play Nike blades forged by Miura.
well, since she is probably the one with the big belly, i assume it would be to a high percentage of accuracy that the child is hers. if you were to question anything, it would be, "is the child really tigers?"
I was under the impression that Tiger's irons were a case of Nike taking his previous Titleist set and simply copying the design and stamping a swoosh on them.
Also, what kind of shafts is Tiger playing in his driver and woods?
