It wasn't just her driver. She wasn't even squaring the clubface and showed no indication of pain during her swing, just her timing and overall swing was off. She hit an iron 40 yards right into the trees twice in a row on one of the par 3's. Basically her swing looked like mine lately. Sad really, her "camp" will be her downfall.

What a joke, just confirms what I've always thought.

'Ole rodney probably won't be joining us in this conversation about MW - he's kinda tied up taking a beating at GW2.

Re: Michelle Wie at the Ginn...
I don't think Michelle Wie is a joke. And frankly it gets tiresome to hear her referred to as a joke. No human being should refer to another human being as a joke. None of us is perfect.
She is very talented, if not a bit misguided. I don't blame her so much as her "handlers". I look forward to the day she "breaks away", as Sean O'Hair did.
She may be down right now, but she's not out. Hopefully she'll find a good swing coach. She has the ability. I've never been a big Leadbetter fan as he seems rather mechanical. As a younger golfer Wie was probably a"feel" player...just step up and hit the ball. Perhaps that has changed?
Also, I think there is a tremendous amount of pressure on her. Both from her inner circle and the media. She's still a kid. She'll be back.

i think a lot of people forget what michelle has accomplished.
* she first qualified for a usga event at age 10
* defeated hilary homeyer, who would go on to win the us open at age 11 in match play
* won the us amateur public links at age 13
* had top 5 finishes in majors at age 14
* nearly made the cut in a mens tour event at age 15
* made it to the quarter finals of the mens us amateur public links losing to eventual champion clay ogden and defeating very talented men at age 16
she makes $20 million per year and will attend stanford university. people forget the girl just graduated from high school. her graduation is/was this weekend.
honestly, if michelle is peoples definition of a joke, i hope i can one day become one myself.

Re: Michelle Wie at the Ginn...
Pulling out of the event so should didn't have a high score on her record is not in the spirit of the game.
Also being gifted places in mens events when she clearly is not deserving or capable is not on .
I think she will one day be a great golfer but she should stick to the LPGA for now and not think about playing on the mens tour till shes at least accomplished something there.

Ochoa's irons are laser perfect. She's dominating the women's tour right now.

She's proving that she's the one to beat now. Annika's going to have to work hard if she wants that #1 ranking back.

Re: Michelle Wie at the Ginn...
Lorena seems really driven so I think it's going to be a long road for Annika or anyone else for that matter. I have to think the gap between her and second will only grow, at least for a while. Her competitive drive is quite impressive.

Re: Michelle Wie at the Ginn...
ochoa seems to be at or near the top of the leaderboard in every tournament she enters. even with the #1 ranking, i think how dominant she can be will be determined by her major wins which she has none of.
