He said 3 over (you got confused by the hyphen - understandable).
It will be a nail biter for her. She is RIGHT ON the cut line. Twelve players tied for T58 at +2, e.g., that's 69. The cut is low 70 and ties. There are five players on the course at +3 - if any of them goes -1 on their remaining holes, the cut line will move to plus two. Another five players on the course are +4, and so it's the same scenario if any one of them goes -2 (the ten aforementioned have anywhere from 2 to 8 holes remaining).
Jackie Gallagher-Smith just got a hole in one on the 17th to bump the cut line back up to +2. I still think that the players at +3 will make the cut, but freak events like the hole in one make it less likely.
I said she was 3 over...the " - " is a hyphen, not a minus.
Yes, I see that now that I re-read it more carefully. Thanks for clarifying. Anyway, she did make the cut, right on the number.
With only two golfers left on the course, the cut was at +2 and then one of them bogied 18 and the cut went to +3 and she made it. Maybe this will get her confidence back up a bit and she'll shoot a decent weekend score. She has a long way to go to get back to where she was a year ago. For about an 18 month stretch, Wie was statistically the best golfer on the LPGA,shooting the best average score and coming in 2nd or 3rd in three majors. Now she's middle of the pack after loosing her confidence and swing because they put her in too many men's tourneys.
Well, she came through on Saturday with a whopping 83. I just came back from playing golf(shot 84) and haven't checked yet, but did she tee it up today or did she WD?...She was saying something about hurting her wrist again after Saturdays round.
79 today, +27 for the tourney - worst in the field by 10 strokes.
She must be hurt, or just overwhelmed by what has happened the last few weeks.
162 over the final 36 is the kind of stuff Daly routinely posts once he falls out of contention.
Off-topic, but this reminds me how much I enjoyed watching Tiger during his 34 month majorless streak (Jun '02 - Apr '05). That was some of the best grinding ever. Kept the 7 year cut streak alive, and there were plenty of Friday afternoons he was right on the bubble. Never once saw him mail in a round even when he was well back of the lead. That's the heart of a champion - never give up, no matter what the situation.

I would suspect that there was a phone call to the Wie camp stating that it would not be in her best interest to WD, after the Ginn fiasco.
The tour is more than comfortable without her, and it is seeming like she has become a burden to the tour. Now that Annika has spoken out publicly, everything that has been said behind closed doors will probably come out.

We shall see. I suspect we will continue to see Michelle get exemptions to LPGA Tour events whenever she wants and she will attract a lot of attention when she does. Of course, it will end sometime if she keeps ending tournaments at over +20 but for now, I'm thinking the LPGA will continue to put up with it.

Perhaps....but I do believe there will be long term fallout for what happened at the Tribute. I somehow think the hostess (Sorenstam) would be quite unhappy if anyone even suggested she be given an exemption to the 2008 event. But other tournaments will continue to give her a free pass.

Well, Annika was clearly upset but when the time comes next year, who knows?
From what I've heard, Michelle still got huge galleries this past week even though she was at the back of the pack. She gets loads of media coverage. Look at the John Deere Classic. Without Michelle, would that event be getting any publicity right now like it's getting? Before the Ginn and LPGA Chamionship, I would have thought it better for Michelle to stay out of mens tournaments. After her previous two performances against the women, I'm even more sure of that. With that said, I can't argue that inviting her is pretty darn good publicity.
If she continues to play like this for another year, then yes, interest will definitely wane but for now, I don't think it will happen.
