Michelle Wie at the Ginn...
is 7 over through 6 holes, in last place.
Maybe she's gearing up for the John Deere

Two bogeys, a double and a triple!
Annika is also on the course now.

Re: Michelle Wie at the Ginn...
She has another bogey. I was looking at her stats and they're pretty terrible.
LPGA.com
Fairways Hit: 3
Greens In Regulation: 1
Putts: 14
This is through 8 holes (2 of them, par 3's).
Annika is Even through 2. Hopefully, she can bounce back well from her injury. I was reading a pre-tournament interview and she seemed to have pretty tempered expectations. Understandable coming right off an injury.

She must be thinking this is a PGA Tour event.

Re: Michelle Wie at the Ginn...
What an absolute baby. I'm surprised she didn't get heatstroke again.
Nike should be embarrassed to be sponsoring this lemming, and the LPGA and especially the PGA Tour should be embarrassed for giving her exemptions.
This girl is a joke. She needs to grow up and show some maturity.
And p.s. notice she pulled out before she signed her card so the score doesn't count. This stinks on ice. I'm so sick of this sideshow.

Except for serious injuries, she should finish the tournament. At least tries to come back and have a good round tomorrow.

Re: Michelle Wie at the Ginn...
No wonder she never shoots over par - whenever she's over par through 16 holes, she WD's.
Expecting her to gut it out and finish the tournament is expecting too much. She's all flash, no substance, no guts, no integrity, no class.
She's been on-site in SC for two weeks getting ready for the tourney, and all of the sudden her injury flares up?
Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure...

hey! now that she's Wie-drawn from the tournament, she can make it home in time
for her graduation ceremony... right where she should have been in the first place.

Maybe there's still a sponsor's spot open at the Memorial.
She could go, shoot +17 for 16 holes and WieDraw from there on the way home.

Re: Michelle Wie at the Ginn...
The LPGA rule has a rule that any non-tour member who shoots an 88 or worse in a competitive round is banned for one year. Seriously.
Wie was 14 over after the 7th hole (her 16th). Her manager - not her doctor or trainer, but the guy who manages her business interests - conferred with her for a few minutes, and then she informed an LPGA official "We're not going to play anymore".
She claimed afterward it was her wrist injury, which she "tweaked" during the round, was the reason for the WD. "88 had nothing to do with it".
Umm, OK. Just note that she was not surprised by the question, she (for once) knew the rule.

Wow. Do you have any reference for the rule? Not that I don't believe you, but I'd love to see the actual rule.
That's really interesting.
