Masters PGA Winners Qualification

With the new qualifications for winners, the Masters may have more people than they want.

1. Maybe they should do PGA winners (excluing opposite field, but including fall finish), but they have to finish in the top 40/50 by end of the year or if they win in 2008, be in top 10/15 by the final selection period. It allows some latitude for tour winners, but gets rid of fluke winners like Chris Couch.

2. Other ideas..

a. Get rid of the top 50 World rankings as of Dec. 31, 2007 (keep the one for 2008) and maybe use order of Merit earnings.

b. Get rid of either the Fed Ex participants for Tour Championshipor top 30 money list at end of the year. The lists will be similar, but not totally alike (be a few extra). I prefer get rid of the former (Fed Ex)
