PGA Tour Stalkers
Some articles about fans who go through great and some not so great lengths to get photos, autographs, etc.

When it comes to celebrities like Sienna Miller, Dennis Quaid, Sarah Jessica Parker and even David Letterman, Mayor Luke Ravenstahl sometimes seems a little star struck.
But, as an avid golf fan, Ravenstahl really couldn’t wait to meet Tiger Woods. On April 23, as mayor of Pittsburgh, the 27-year-old thought he could make that happen faster than most of us.
Sources tell KDKA’s Jon Delano that when the mayor learned that Tiger Woods was out at Oakmont practicing, he had his office call the club to secure an invitation. The club told him politely, but firmly, that this was a private affair, and he was not invited. Nonetheless, the mayor got in his car, drove out, and tried to crash the club.

U.S. Open practice rounds exist for perhaps only two reasons, autographs and practice, though Tiger Woods and George Marshalek would list those priorities in opposite order.
Mr. Marshalek, 18, arrived yesterday at Oakmont Country Club armed with several commemorative flags, some Masters memorabilia, a Tiger Woods-style Nike hat and a bunch of old Sports Illustrated magazines, each with a cover shot of a PGA player. He packed the items into a backpack and passed through the course gates at 10:30 a.m. -- the start of a business day, he reasoned.
He doesn't like golf.
"We'd rather watch 'Days of Our Lives,' " said the friend who joined him.

Re: PGA Tour Stalkers
I heard about that Pittsburgh mayor sneaking into Oakmont to meet Tiger Woods. Apparently, he has his own version of the story but it doesn't sound any better to me.
kdka.com - Ravenstahl Denies He Crashed Tiger Woods Event
Quote:
KDKA first aired the story Monday and now a video produced by American Express confirms Ravenstahl’s presence on the course at the $900 per person event hosted for 82 American Express Club Card members who were delighted and surprised to get golf lessons from Tiger Woods.
In a Newstalk 1020 KDKA radio appearance on Fred Honsberger’s show, the Mayor denied he crashed a private party.
“If somebody would have told me at Oakmont I wasn't welcome or not to come in I would have turned around and left,” Ravenstahl said during the interview.
But KDKA sources maintain that the Mayor invited himself to the club in the first place. Once there, the club and event sponsors could have had the Mayor thrown out but chose instead to let him stay as long as he did not interfere with Tiger Woods.
