At Colonial he had 6 birdies in a row. A media member asked him, “have you ever had six birdies in a row’. He said, “Yes, I’ve had eleven birdies in a row”. Then, to qualify for the US Open, he was in a 10 person playoff, which he won. After the round they asked him, “have you ever been in a ten person playoff”. He said, “yeah, one time I was in a 15 person playoff…..and I won that one too.”
The guy is definitely really confident, if not a bit cocky. Kind of reminds me of a guy with the initials P and M when he came on the scene. I think he also answered that the golfer he idolized growing up was himself.
Phil has won major championships, but at present there is no "rival" for Tiger...Kim is a good looking young player, but has to accomplish alot before he is considered in the same league, and at that point Tiger will be on the downside of his career...
