I went for just one day in 2003. It was awesome. You can never get bored, especially if you're going for ALL days !

If I was asked to choose a winner, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Miguel Angel Jimenez

Re: 2007 BRITISH OPEN

I've never been to a major tournament. You're really lucky! I'd really love to attend one.

By going from start to finish, what do you mean? Are you talking about from Monday to Sunday or from Thursday to Sunday? I know I say it every time but I think the best days to go are from Monday to Wednesday.

Monday: Not all of the players have arrived yet but there are still a good number of them and the crowds are the lightest you'll see. A good day to get to know the course and pick out your spots.

Tuesday: The best day to go, IMO. By now, all of the players have arrived but what makes this day the best is there will be less crowds than on Wednesday.

Wednesday: The second best day to go. All of the players have arrived and are practicing but the crowds will be getting big.

Plus, you can bring your camera for the practice rounds. I actually like to go for the practice rounds and then watch the action on my television. During tournament play, you'll probably have to stick to a couple of places the whole time.

Predicting golf winners is like predicting which blade of grass will grow the fastest, you just pick one.

I'm just happy it's at Carnoustie, great to watch golf there.

Re: 2007 BRITISH OPEN

If we see a 6 yard wide fairway like in 1999, I'd say Peter Hedblom is as good a pick as any.

But I highly doubt Superintendent-gone-mad will be the scenario in 2007.

It would be nice to see someone from the continent win.

Re: 2007 BRITISH OPEN

apart from watching the players at the open,

i am curious to ask if theres anything else to do at major tournaments, i know they have demo fans and custom fitting and was just wondering what else they have?

Re: 2007 BRITISH OPEN

Well the 2007 Open won't be setup by the superintendent, but I'm not sure there is any reason to hope the R&A won't mess it up. Just look what they have done in two of the qualifiers in the runup (both set by the amateurs who run the ruling body for the rest of the world):

Re: 2007 BRITISH OPEN

I wouldn't get bored.

I've never gone to any event though. From what I see on tv, it must be pretty hard to see a lot of the time..
