Sorry if this forum has already been made but its discusting watching her play lately.I really think she should drop out for a bit, shes just embarassing nike.
Yeah, this dead horse has been beaten merclessly - You wanna discuss MW, you should go to GW2 - there's a thread about MW that has over 1000 replies......now that's beating a dead horse!!!!!
There's so many good female players about. I dont see what all the fuss is about, Michelle Wie this Michelle Wie that, it's been going on for years. I think she should give it a miss for a while and hopefully come back at a later date and prove people like me wrong.
she shouldn't quit, but she needs to take a little time off and re-find her swing that used to be pretty good. likely means getting away from Leadbetter. perhaps enjoying her Freshman year at Stanford and forgetting about globe-trotting to play golf competitely. If she is still interested in it, then maybe she can re-emerge better than before.

I couldnt agree more. The thing is, she has not proven herself, and had won no LPGA titles and decides to play in a men's tourney??? Please, before you try to play with the big dogs, at least win a few like Annika has and then maybe try. But I dont know what all the fuss is about either. But she definitely needs to get away from the game for a while.
Should she quit? No. The girl is still 17 years old, right? Or is she 18 now? Not sure.
I do think she should take some time off. Obviously, her game is far from where it was and I think a little time away from golf would help her more than trying to struggle through it.
Of course not. But by god she needs to get her head screwed on again. A break away from the game to regain her composure and physical well being will not go astray.
She should not quit, look at her record last year, it was better then average. Shes just young and going through a tough time with her game and the media. 10 years from now someone would get smacked for asking this question.
She is just a kid who has had an injury. What a deal, she has millions in the bank, is going to be a freshman at Stanford, can play the Stanford course whenever she wants, gets to go to football/basketball and water polo games, gets to go to the City on the weekends to enjoy great food and music, gets to go to the Big Game against Cal, can join clubs, gets to learn at a school where it is virtually impossible to flunk out and gets out of the public limelight for a while. Keg parties, all night raves, an actual social life and great facilities for training. Sounds too good to be true and just what the doctor ordered! A chance to be a somewhat normal kid away from those domineering parents for the first time. Plenty of time for pro golf down the road.
she says that all decisions about when and where she plays are up to her, but I got to believe that her parents, agents, coaches, Nike, etc, help her make some of these decisions. I am sure it has been easy to cash in on some of her well-warranted fame, but now it is time to step back and make sure you don't blow her future fame, by getting her burned out or turned into a joke.
As the OP stated, and others reiterated, shutting it down for some time might be a good thing.
Neither her health or mental outlook seems to be in good shape at the moment. A little time of may be a good thing for her, to let the wrist heal, and to keep from eroding her confidence any further.
Long term, I think she will have a good career, but this year has been a train wreck.
One thing that is interesting about Michelle is back when she was 13 it looked like she might be the longest woman off the tee ever. But the reality is there are now a good half dozen gals who can put it past her even when she is healthy.
Which really speaks to the absurdity of her competing against men. Versus the guys on the big Tour, she's gonna outdrive Dimarco and Pavin and not too many others.
