Interesting - not a lot of names we had in our Pick 'em list up at the top of the leaderboard. The points tomorrow should be fun to see if victory gets his computer up and running!
Here is my 2007 PGA Fantasy team going into this weekend. Keep in mind you get to pick your choice of 1 player from #1 through #4 ranked in the world and then for your next three players you get your choice of the remainder of the field. Here is the team:
I felt like i was watching this tournament in the desert. My goodness....it looked hot, and the sun was so bright it was hard to see the ball land half the time.
As for the first round, I said before the tourney i think the winner will be another Zach Johnson or Angel Cabrera like player. A good, solid player that will break out. Guys i liked were Verplank, Romero and Stricker, but obviously only Verplank had a decent day. Stephen Ames, though, is a guy to watch out for. Fits in that mold of good, solid player never to win a major.
got home a few hours ago it was a hot SOB. glad to see Daly on the leaderboard. You know he didn't even play one practice round lol. I watched tiger throw his club twice on the same hole, just thought it was ironic with the other thread going. Lots of good shots the greens seemed to be eating everyone alive. If you werent on the fairway then the rough was a pain to get out of on number 18 I watched many from 80yds out in the rough hit it only about 20yds to the rough again. My boy got Anthony Kim's ball after he finished he was excited.
Looks like it is over now. Tiger is on the prowl and looking sharp.
I am a Tiger fan, but the championship is only halfway over. Its hard to come right back after an amazing round and follow it up. You never know, he can shoot 70 tomorrow, which isn't bad, and wind up tied for the lead, or even trailing. Stranger things have happened.
I guess Tiger has figured out that keeping his driver in the bag is his best way to win on most courses. His driver is his weakest club and even when he hits one into the trees, his short game bails him out.
He clearly is a step ahead of everyone in golf. I don't see this ending for a few more years based on the rising crop of young players and existing top players.
I am not a Tiger fan because I like to see upsets, but it is getting close to being 50-50 whether or not he wins when he tees off. He is that much better than anyone else.
