Everybody associates his name with 400 yard drives, but I've watched him a couple of times and he's a very accomplished golfer, hitting every bit as good a shots as Tiger does. His problem seems to be emotional, he gets down on himself when he hits a couple bad ones. And of course a little less oh-be-joyful might make his concentration a little more in depth.
Nothing would be better than to see Daly in the mix on Sunday. Unfortunately, we've seen John in this position before during or after 1 round. And I'm afraid of where he could wind up. I hope not, though.
Yea, I couldn't believe it when I saw Daly on the leaderboard. I hope he stays in it, will definitely make it a bit more exciting to watch and see what happens...
Might be 66 or 86 tomorrow. But for one day at least, he reminded us he does indeed have a ton of talent.
That drive on #18 was pure insanity, like going all in on a gut shot river card. Dude pulled it off - 325 carry to a 10 yard landing area between 3 bunkers and a wide creek. There aren't too many who could have hit that shot, and far fewer who would have even tried.
Not bloody likely, but he's suprised us twice before, so you never know. But I suspect he'll blow up tomorrow and finish around T70th by Sunday night.
Shame the event is FOUR rounds in duration. Not a fan of JD
I couldn't agree more....he's almost painful to watch at this point. You know that he's going to blow up at some point and make a string of bogies or doubles. I guess it would be nice to see him in the mix at the end, but i don't think there is any way that is going to happen.

Yup,i guess your right, but the man deserves more respect on tv than he gets,he did win two majors and was runner up on many other big events, many of your top players today will never win a major in there careers,
I give jd respect because he aint fake,he dont care what anyone thinks about him.
John Daly has all the talent in the world. Sometimes, in spite of John Daly, the talent surfaces. On rare occasions it sees daylight for four rounds.
I wish him well for the remaining three rounds of the tournament. I love watching him play when his game is on. Fabulous short game and still an incredible long game.
A man with a ton of natural talent, but a sad and pathetic ability to deal with life. I don't know what he will do over the next 3 days - could be literally anything. The video ....................
