Could somebody explain to me why when Tiger Woods is teeing off on a 400yrd par 4 using a 2 iron some memebrs of the crowd shout "get in the hole "

My fiance hates that, too. I never really cared, though I admit it is stupid.

lol its prob ppl who hav nevr been to the golf i think its funny asl msot as funny when tiger just turned pro and was plauing in australia and he couldnt putt on our fast greens and he goes to the crowd "how do u putt on these" then some 1 yelled out "a lot better than u tiger" it was very funny

It seems like it has been a very bad "tradition" for a Tiger gallery for many years. I often wondered if it didn't start out as a Caddy Shack quite "It's in the hole" and somehow morphed over the years.

It's this one guy. He was recently on some sports talk radio and was saying that it's just something he started and turned into tradition so now he follows Tiger everywhere to do it.

It's not just Tiger fans. It has gotten to the point where nearly every shot for the big name players elicits someone yelling "get in the hoooooollllle!!!"

I don't think that any of these fans are morons or actually think it is going in, they just do it for giggles.

Atleast the morons are enthusiastic. I don't give a hoot what they yell...It's American golf...it's okay to drink beer and cheer. Be respectful...be quiet and stand still...but once that pill is airborn raise all kinds of hellooooo daisy!!!

If little things like people getting their kicks is that much of an issue in your life you should suit up in the uniform of a US Army infantryman and go pound the streets of Baghdad or Samarra or Ramadi. Then your fellow "moron" golf fans enjoying their freedom and acting a fool won't be such an annoyance...in fact, you might could crack a smile and shake your head in appreciation of the morons fervor and enjoyment of the moment.

Don't be an old goat...enjoy the game and everything that comes with it.

Funny the first two or 3 times i heard, but after 6 months its gets annoying. Tiger tees off on par 5 608 yarder "Get in the hole" some one yells, only hole its likey to go in is a rabbit burrow :)

It has been going on for a lot longer than 6 months though. I really find the Tiger fanboy **** annoying. It has brought a lot of people to the course who are there only because they have nothing better to do or so they can TiVo the match and hear themselves on tv when they get home

Listening to them is like listening to the brand new 30 year old Yankees fan talking about the tradition etc of of the Bombers and the greatness of the late 90's. However if you asked them about the 1989-91 teams, they couldn't tell you the first thing about them.

That's a little dramatic........It IS annoying. Nothing wrong with saying that.

That's been going on for 10 years, and it's time to stamp it out!

Everyone knows more and has watched more and appreciates the game more than everyone else.

It's so funny that the same new Tiger fans that annoy some of you, should be getting your appreciation for bringing the game unprecedented purses, coverage, and exposure. That doesn't even include changes that are evident outside of the tour like new courses and facilities for us to practice at.
