Sabbatini's Dilemma

To be able to play as well as he does, and be cursed with the most irritating personality in the history of professional golf. I'm very happy Steve Stricker won.

Re: Sabbatini's Dilemma

So is that what they call speaking your mind and being yourself these day? "Irritating personality?" Honestly, leave Rory alone, nothing that he's ever has been offensive or degrading. So what if he called Tiger "more beatable than ever?" Why do people feel like they need to take offense to that? I think Tiger can handle that. Everyone feels a big need to talk about Rory on here, you didn't have to even talk about him in this thread, just talk about Stricker.

Rory is an absolute shmuck! He's a crude, rude, arrogant *****. Just admit your a Tiger hater and leave it at that. By the way, the thread is titled "Sabbatini's Dilemma" so why would we be talking about Stricker?

Sabbatini looked like a fool when he ordered the fan be removed for asking him if tiger was beatable now... He was acting immature. Dont write a check with your mouth that your butt cant cash...

Re: Sabbatini's Dilemma

Doesn't he have a look on his face constantly that seems to say, "I want to have a fist fight with somebody, anybody......Right Now!" I remember a couple of "Thugs" in High School who use to walk around all day with that same look. The reason I posted this was that my wife and I were watching the Sunday final round, and she remarked about the pleasant demeanor of Steve Stricker and K.J. Choi, and then the camera locked on to the lovely gum chewing mug of Mr. Personality. We both lost it!

I must say again however, the guy can PLAY!

Re: Sabbatini's Dilemma

There's no doubt that the media loves him because he practically creates headlines every time he opens his mouth. And they're right there ready to twist his words however they can to promote it as well. Yes he is extremely confident and even arrogant but they just prey on it. It's all about ratings after all.

Such as his comment about there being more to it than being tired for why Tiger didn't play in the first FedEx Cup event The rest of the interview gave context that indicated he was referring to the 10 million dollar annuity being of little importance to Tiger's bottom line. But the media was definitely slanting it towards 'Tiger's afraid to play this course'.

But Rory is a character out there, he does have the 'I hate everything' demeanor that ticks a lot of people off. Add in the skulls he seems to wear a lot and his chromed out Hummer and he's definitely one heck of a personality. It's almost shocking to see him hugging his wife and children instead of a goth type girlfriend with a chain necklace.

John Daly is a pretty non-typical guy as well -- but it seems that more of us can relate to him so he gets by :)

The constant look of acting like he's going to hit something, anything with whatever club he's got in hand when he makes a bad shot is pretty funny, moronic and idiotic all at the same time. He's a media dream golfer... always looking and acting like a sinister little devil child... that's what the media likes, wants and gets from this guy.

Although I would never say anything to a player if I were at a tournament, it would however, make a guy like me want to say someting to him to tick him off when he pulls off the "I'm going to hit something... ANYTHING!" move.

What a joker... But he's fun to watch! And yes, he is a mighty good player.

Oh **** you just called me a Tiger hater..*stomps out of room crying*

For your information Tiger is my favorite player or athlete in any sport. I was just saying that fans don't need to come to Tiger's rescue and defend him if Rory or anyone else says that he's "beatable." Also, besides being a Tiger fan I'm also a golf fan. I enjoy watching other players play well besides just Tiger. I'd much rather see a tight leaderboard than Tiger destroying everyone.

I like Rory because of the way he plays and his talent, that's how I judge what players I'm a "fan" of..by their ability not by whether their chewing gum or how they look.

Did that happen on Sunday? I was watching a little of the coverage on Sunday. I saw Sabbatini practically strangle his putter after missing a putt. While walking off the grerrn Sabbatini muttered something about "coming down and saying it to his face" to someone in the gallery, but I didn't know what was said ti instigate that remark.

Re: Sabbatini's Dilemma

i read an article in some golf magazine that they asked all of the pros on tour about which golfer they least like to play with and sabbatini got like 25% of the vote.

I'm with you man. I like Tiger too, but everytime I defend Rory like you did, the lench mob comes to my door with pitch forks and torches.

Maybe it might occur to people that you don't have to hate Tiger in order to see Rory's side of the arguement.
