CRANS-SUR-SIERRE, Switzerland (AP) - Tadd Fujikawa, a 16-year-old from Hawaii, failed to make the cut at the European Masters. He went out in style, though.
Fujikawa finished with a double-eagle 2, hitting a 3-wood that traveled 285 yards and into the hole at the 632-yard, par-5 9th, his last after a round that began at the 10th.
Wow!
So his drive was ~347yds? Wonder if it was a dogleg or something. Either way, that is an outstanding accomplishment.
i think double eagle means he took chances with this shot, instead of hitting more conservative, "safe" shots, he whacked it, or instead of hitting iron, he hits driver. perhaps that style of play that got him in trouble with the other holes.

Um, actually, no.
He's just not very good.
I've watched him play 3 rounds since he turned pro, he misses a ton of fairways and greens. Not through aggression, but just through not controlling the flight of his ball.
