Tiger Woods cursing on TV

Did anyone else hear Tiger yell right next to the camera God Da****? I heard it clear as day. It was the 7th to 9th hole not sure exactly which one.

i always hear it on the course when watching tiger and the rest of them.. the sound crew do quite a good job blocking it out though.

They're golfers, they don't have to be role models.

When they were growing up, I'm sure most of them were thinking of becoming a golfer, but I doubt any wanted to be a role model.

I was wondering who if anyone would get fined for that. Shouldn't be tiger I dont think. I think the broadcasting should have caught it even with only a few sec. delay.

Re: Tiger Woods cursing on TV

As athletes, they should be role models as they have millions of kids watching them and wanting to be just like them.

However, golf is going to be frusterating at times for anyone. Everyone is going to have moments where they let their temper get the best of them, whether they show it or not.

Tiger is a great golfer, not God. He doesn't throw his clubs and, in my opinion, has the best mental game in golf. As far as I'm concerned, everyone is going to end up cursing in a round of golf at some point. As long as its only cursing, and not terrible cursing at that, Im wouldnt get overly concerned. Go Tiger!

Re: Tiger Woods cursing on TV

i have never played a game in my life without cursing and dont think i will.

theyre paid to be golfers and thats what they do.

it may just be my upbringing but i see it just as words, i have respect not to yell at the top of my voice or if im playing with a stranger i dont tend to shout and swear just a mutter under my breath but i could see somebodys point if he was shouting as loud as he could the ugliest words there is e.g happy gilmore style, but the odd *** ****** i dont have a problem with..

just my :twocents:

No big deal I figure. It could be worse. golf is usually a good place to drop the odd f bomb. I'm pretty sure Tiger knows his place as a role model.

Remember he is the number one golfer in the world, he recieved this ranking thru hard work
and dedication. And far as i know there are worse things seen and heard on T.V. then a man letting off some dissatifaction......

If the only thing my kids learn bad from Tiger is cussing you'll get no complaints from me! Atleast he's not a dog fighting, drunk driving, drug dealing thug!

Re: Tiger Woods cursing on TV

This "role model" stuff is just silly. One, because most people who complain about it do the same things themselves. It's not Tiger who's corrupting your kids, it's Dad. Two, because you can simply turn off the TV and not let them watch it. Three, because you're watching it yourself; what's the difference?

It's easy to judge others; why not judge yourself? The answer is because it's painful and people don't want to admit their own wrongdoing. But it would be beneficial.

I don't even consider that a curse word anyways and really don't see the point of this thread.

Ditto - it is taking the name of the Lord in vain, something which is done by the majority of people on a daily basis. If your child has not learnt it already, you are not letting them out enough!

We have seen plenty of threads over the years nit picking Tiger (although I don't think the OP was in this thread). Stuff about his temper, his being a cheapskate when he was nouveau riche (most all of those stories are from when he was 21-22), he's arrogant, etc.

Whenever I see or hear that, I think about the top dog in other sports. Almost without exception - only Federer comes to mind - I don't think any World No. 1 in any sport represents their quite as well as Woods does. One the whole, I can live with the minor fits and tantrums.
