Round 1 Tour Championship

Well, the tour championship starts today...

Should be exciting, just wanted to say everyone should record it considering it will probably be the most intense golf we've ever seen.

Maybe the most intense you'll have seen (noting that you are only 13 years old) but not me. The PGA Championship at Valhalla in 2000 provided the most exciting and intense golf I've ever seen. The showdown between Bob May and Tiger Woods during the final round and subsequent playoff was the best I've seen. I don't think the TOUR Championship will provide that kind of intensity (though I hope I'm wrong).

I will give you this...the TOUR Championship should prove interesting to watch given the condition of the greens. Throw in the $10M bonus and it may add to the pressure of making short putts down the stretch.

Re: Round 1 Tour Championship

i think this is great to golfs overall intensity.
i do think they should lower the initial number of people at the first event down to about 80.
i mean they are letting more people in the first "play-off" event (144) than there are guys who are fully exempt ont the tour (125)

Re: Round 1 Tour Championship

Round was suspended due to darkness...rain delay earlier in the day. Great round by Tiny Tim with Lucky Charms in hot pursuit. Tiger's striking and putting it well and stalking an eagle Hunter. My favorite moment so far was when Chucky Three Sticks bounced it off the pin and hairlipped the hole...then the Big Easy chipped in for birdie by hangin' the hickey. Good stuff!

Re: Round 1 Tour Championship

Tim Clark reminds me of one of those guys from Lord of the Rings... I mean with being short and the shaggy hair and everything. The hobbits, that's what they were. Timmy Baggins, I bet he has furry feet.

My boy Camilo is doing well again for the third straight week. Not that anyone particularly cares, but he played his way into the top 30 to make the Tour Championship after a disappointful season of sorts.

Re: Round 1 Tour Championship

Martini,

Clawing your way into the Top 30 after a so/so season says a lot about your competitiveness and determination. Camillo should get huge props for fighting through a rough year to make the Top 30. I've maintained in other posts that Camillo's commitment to improving will keep him among the elite for a very long time.
