Tiger finished with -7 today in round 2, totals of -13 for the tournament, and 3 shot lead over Woody Austin. Eagle on number 9, and close the round with a birdie on no 18.
Phil is way back.
Go Tiger. Go Phil, let's have some shoot out on the weekend.
I was thinking that Tiger was heading for 59 after his opening 9 of 28. I know its extremely hard to keep that momentum going, its hard enough doing it on his game when I'm playing Xbox, so one can only imagine how difficult it is to do in real-life. Maybe his eyes got big !
I think that really is what happened! After that putt on nine for eagle something happened because, with the exception of 18, the back nine has been easier to own than the front...look at Padraig yesterday...Tiger himself had 3 birdies and a bogey...I think he just got distracted today at the turn.
I read somewhere that Stricker took Tiger's ball out of the cup on the ninth and threw it? Is that true? Is that the reason that Tiger lost his steam on the back 9? You know how superstitious golfers are. Touching someone else's ball is a big no-no I would imagine.

I don't believe that to be the case. The replay didn't show it if it did happen.
Do you guys think Woody Austin whiffed that 4 inch putt? Sure looked like it!!!
I will give him the benefit of the doubt. The club motion looked mostly vertical to me (I did not see 50 replays of it yet though!). It looked to me that he may have been and grounded his putter agressively.
Earlier in the round, he was mad at missing a putt, walked up and one-handed a putt in quickly, and did not "ground" his putter first. the announcers even commented on how quickly he raked it in.
Then on 15 (the hole in question), to me it was obvious that he attempted to hit the ball, stubbed his putter into the turf, and then tapped it in.
It was a little suspicous how quickly he tapped it in after what he did before the tap...I think he was trying to hit it in. No worries, and I think he learned a lesson. People are watching.
