How about scientists researching the cure for cancer or AIDS? Do you think they make $1,027,000,000? They have a much bigger potential impact on society than a person who plays a game. I'm not singling Tiger out either, look at football, baseball and basketball players, actors, etc... They make tons of money and provide only entertainment to society... not products, not services... entertainment. The American culture places such a heavy importance on trivial things.
Entertainers make more money than doctors, yet if tomorrow all the entertainers were to vanish from earth, life would go on (it might be boring). You can't say the same about doctors, farmers, etc...

I totally agree with you, all I'm saying is that tiger is commited to what he's doing and does that
everyday. I know he gets paid too much money, but so does michael schumacher. And yeah cancer researchers probably deserve more money than they get.
I think golf would be better if say, the winning prize on the PGA tour would be $100,000 or less, than we would actually feel bad for the loser in a playoff, or someone who misses the cut because there arent rediculous amounts of money involved.
