Re: If Tiger is clean, 'what does it matter what the rest of them are on?'

There will be folks on something. I knew a guy in college golf on Steriods. He wanted to hit the ball longer. Another guy I know took speed to help focus (go figure).

It happens. It will be the middle of the road players trying to deal with stress or injury. I could see some on pain killers for sure. Is that a competitive advantage? I don't really think so, but it is what it is.

The steriods never helped my friend that I could tell. I still out drove him. Honestly when I played competitive golf the only thing I wanted half way thru was a beer or two to calm the nerves. Not sure that was illegal or not. Many smoke to calm the nerves, but I couldn't get into smoking. Now I am just a country club hacker playing in tournaments its acceptable to have a beer and it has helped a round or two I am sure of that.

Beta blocker - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Beta Blockers – Complete medical information regarding this class of drugs on MedcineNet.com

I have read that these might be one of the primarys on the list of abused substances...I would imagine hitting shots in pressure packed situations would be a bit easier if you could chemically dull your inclination towards anxiety...

Beta blockers are on the list for the LPGA so I assume they're on the men's list as well. It's true that beta blockers control your adrenaline, but if it actually helped with putting, don't you think half of the old men at your club would be the best putters in the world.

This all sounds very familiar. Please tell me who the Major golf tours are? Bet you $1,000,000U.S.that the guilty party,( when one arises), will not be from the good old U.S.A.

I was thinking mostly of the European (men's) Tour, the PGA Tour and the LPGA Tour, but I believe that tours on other continents have drug policies in place also.

Of course the three tours I mentioned all have a very international roster of players.

BTW, what makes you so sure that no US golfer will get caught?

Unless it involves Tiger, I really don't care. He is so dominant, it is obvious the drugs aren't working well enough on anyone esle. However, if Tiger was caught, it would be big news.
