Michelle Wie opts out of men's events

This is the first article that I've seen in months about Michell's 08 plans. What I found interesting (full of all those read between the lines quotes) were the statements from
Susan Simpson concering an inviter for Michell to the WBO-she may not get one this year.

Anyway here's the link to the article: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/mai.../sgwome120.xml

Re: Michelle Wie opts out of men's events

It's more like the men's events got wise. Again, we hear "wieality", Michelle Wie's version of reality, which really isn't reality.

Also, the "wietards", her fans, buy into her "wieality".

Re: Michelle Wie opts out of men's events

At this stage of her career, and more importantly, her life, this is a wise choice. There has been nothing but negative publicity for her over the last year or so. She should do herself a favor and seriously concentrate on school, working on her game as well. Play few events - no more than 2-3 during this spring semester, then go full bore in the summer and see where she stands. She has to learn to compete first, then to win, then to be a champion. Crawl before walking, walk before running. Her career so far has just been a sprint, and she wasn't ready for it...

Glad to hear it! I got so fed up with all the nonsense we had posted in here with respect how good her failed attempts showed her to be!

Re: Michelle Wie opts out of men's events

She is no longer news until she proves herself healed. The LPGA already has a younger star in Morgan Pressel:

2007
• Became a Rolex First-Time Winner at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, where she also became the
youngest player in LPGA Tour history to win a major championship at 18 years, 10 months, 9 days.

The injuries last year cost her some fame.
