Re: Will Two Gloves Make the Cut

The above seemed like a simple enough question right???

Perhaps not:

The hottest topic -- and one that left some players hot under the collar -- was far down the leaderboard at the cut line. The PGA Tour has a new policy this year to limit the field size on the weekend, and it knocked out John Daly, Brandt Snedeker and 16 other players.
"I don't understand the rule. I think it's crazy," Daly told Golf Channel. "It's a stupid rule, I'm sorry."
Daly and those who finished at even-par 140 still received official last-place money of $9,699 and 46 points toward the FedEx Cup.
But they won't have a tee time on Saturday.
The policy allows for the top 70 professionals and ties, as always, but if that number exceeds 78 players, then the closest number of players to 70 advance to the final two rounds. Sixty-nine players finished at 1-under 139.
So we will have two cuts this season, when the friday score distibution calls for them: The pay-cut, and the play-cut!

Tommy Two Gloves will get paid for last-place, and wasn't 'officially cut', but will not play this weekend.

In interviews, John Daly blasted The Tour for him not finding out about the new rule until he was on his last Friday hole. Jonathan Byrd, who had the same 36 hole score, said in his interview that The Tour had done a great job in communicating the new policy well ahead of time. Why am I not surprised?
