2008- is ernie finally back?

i know its only after 3 rounds but i like what i'm seeing out of the big easy's game.

i also recognize he usually plays the dubai course well.

and i also understand recently he has had trouble closing the deal.

but having said that...

how cool would it be if he became the "challenger" to tiger's throne for 2008?

how's you like to see the two of them coming down the stretch on the 2nd sunday in april?

is ernie back?

Well, he's back......this week anyway.

Golf is too fickle to base a year off of a great week.

I hope he closes it out tomorrow, but sometimes I just don't see the desire or fitness level from Ernie that's needed to challenge the top spot.

Always good to see TW not running away with a tourney. Sometimes I think the difference between the PGA & European tours is: The PGA Tour wants to kiss Tiger's butt, the European Tour wants to kick it.

Just my opinion.

i also noticed in their coverage of dubai they still show a fair amount of coverage of the rest of the field.

kind of refreshing.

Yes....VERY refreshing! It's why I enjoy most of the Euro coverage week in, week out. If this tourney was on our network here in the US, you'd hardly know anyone but Tiger was playing. VERY maddening for golf fans, but must be a sheer delight for Tiger fans.....and yes, sometimes I believe they're mutually exclusive.

Tiger took it rather than Ernie losing it...I still have high hopes for him this year...

Back 9
Els 38
Woods 31

Kudos to Ernie for going for the eagle at the last; found the water, but I liked the decision.

Unlucky Ernie, hes getting back and it was a brave decision to go for the eagle, personaly i wouldnt. Dunno if i would want to be in a playoff with Tiger :)

FairwyFinder

Good point, i think Euros do really want to beat Tiger. Impression i get from the PGA is that there happy for 2nd behind Tiger

Sure, he's a big money draw for the PGA; everyone on tour benefits.
