Someone this morning is swearing his real name is Tigoris, and saying that it is some sort of traditional Phillipeans name. True or BS?

It's nonsense. His name is Tiger Woods. He was born Eldrick Woods. His father gave him the nickname Tiger after one of his (father's) friends. Tiger has since legally changed his name to Tiger Woods.

He was actually born, Eldrick Tiger Woods. Tiger was his given middle name. I always wondered why a grown man purposely called himself 'Tiger'....until I saw his real first name.

His college teammates called him Erkel.

Really he actually changed his name fully to tiger ? Are you sure ? His dads codename for him when he was on the course instead of causing distraction was sam, explains the name of his daughter :)

its just a name and HE is just just human like you and me but really good at golf....get a grip,,,

And his Dad gave him the nickname "Sam." Now his daughter carries that as her first name.

i dont think that he legally changed his name. i think he just goes by his middle name. I would too if my name was eldrick. and come on, what cooler name is there than tiger?
