Nice comeback for a front runner

Tiger Woods holed 90 feet of putts while making birdies at 14, 15, 16 and eagle at 17 to win his first round match today.

3 down with 5 to play? No problem for the guy who came from 5 down and 6 down in his first and third US Am titles.

Great job by J.B. Holmes, by the way. Guy makes 5 birdies while building his lead, then finishes with 5 straight pars. If you know anything about match play, that is a textbook script on winning strategy.

TW just never ceases to amaze.

Tiger never quits, or gives up. It's the only reason I like him. The man is driven to win.

JB was playing great golf, but it goes to show, even when you play great golf, you need a break to beat Tiger. He's that good!

Re: Nice comeback for a front runner

I got home from work right after Tiger clubbed his bag in the desert on 13. They were pretty much writing him off. But there was this kind of weird feeling that one of those Tiger moments was about to take place. Some of the best golf I've seen in a while. Haven't seen Tiger "willing" those 20-30 footers in the hole for a while. I think this is more evidence that the majors are going to be fun to watch this year!
