This years Ryder cup looks to be a hum dinger.... The European side looks to be forming well and we seem to have a strong and experienced team developing. I think that Europe is gona win yet again... What say you? I allways take the week off work and am glued to the box so i dont miss a shot.

Maybe the US should just have Tiger play all the rounds and matches . I am sure he could just take them all

The Ryder Cup will be staying in Europe where it belongs, dont see anything in the American team that is anything to worry about, and before you all start saying Tiger,Phil etc are higher ranked in the world rankings,it has never done them any good in previous years,We will win AGAIN.
I think Paul Azinger has brought a new attitude to the American side. The USA is sick of losing and with the new format of being eligable including 4 (as opposed to 2) captians picks, I think the it'll be really close this year. I see no reason why the Americans can't win this year.

For the sake of the event itself, I hope the Americans win it this time around! The Ryder Cup is, has, and always will be my favourite golfing event. I used to love watching the Ryder Cup even before Europe could manage to win it! Of all the golf forums I use, it`s always the Ryder Cup threads that I check out first, as they`re the threads I`m the most interested in!
Unlike the Majors, where the drama usually starts on the back nine on Sunday afternoon.... the Ryder Cup by contrast has nerves/drama normally from the first tee-shot on the Friday morning. Even Tiger`s first tee-shot landed in the river in Ireland last time around, after what looked like an unusually tight swing.
Nice to see you posting here CBC. I hope to see you around more often.
As for the event, it's almost as if some of the US players don't care anymore. I find it hard to pull for a team with players that seem indifferent about the outcome.

Yeah, I agree. Even though I'm Canadian I usually would cheer for the Americans, but it seems like they don't try too hard anymore. I'm slippin' towards the internationals now

I agree 100%, Paul Azinger will bring a renewed aggression to the team and they will be very determined.
The law of averages say that the US are due a win and seeing as its on american soil, well they have a chance.
I believe Europe have the better team players though, in fact better players period.
However, we won't have the same mix of experience and youthfullness, seeing as Monty will struggle to make it as will Darren Clarke. Having said that the experience on the European side is second to none. All in all it will be tighter and can go either way.
I was watching the last set of matches from the K club a few days ago and you'll be hard pushed to see better golf over a weekend anywhere in your life. Truely unbelievable stuff.

I think you hit the nail on the head! The Americans want to get paid for playing in the Ryder Cup and the Europeans want to win the Ryder Cup.
Me personally I would rather watch the Master or the Open than the Ryder Cup. There are just to many people I really don't care to watch participating in the Ryder Cup. I mean who really wants to watch JJ Henry, Brett Wetterich, and Vaughn Taylor golf. Unless they are in contention at a tournament do you ever see these guys play? Nope. Just my
I`d like to see the likes of Hunter Mahan and Brandt Snedeker make the American team. They just seem to be more firey, and would imo be harder to beat than some of the American veterans.
With the PGA Tour being more international thesedays, it`s harder for the next generation of American golfers to burst onto the scene than in previous years/decades, and yet they`d probably perform very well. They seem to be joining the PGA tour later in their careers than before, usually after an apprenticeship on the Nationwide tour.

NOTHING but nothing compares the Ryder Cup for me, The Open or The Masters, nothing.
Its not about watching one guy play golf in a competition. Its the Team thing, maybe playing for your country perhaps. Whoever wins this year lets hope it is played by gentlemen with friendly aggression. That way we all win. Golf wins..... I am still pulling for Europe though...
