When big John ******* up Ely Callaway's generous hand out, I knew big John was living in the world of hurt and lie. But he surprised me in the later years by winning several times more, he's near the end of his road now with no turn around.
In 8 years, he'll be eligible for the Champions Tour, where drinking and smoking are more acceptable, though maybe not at the volumes he consumes. I wonder if he'll hold up until then.
I'm originally from Memphis, and we all followed Daly when he first got started. But over the years, it has become clear that his boozing, trashy women and partying would be his golfing downfall. I just can't feel sorry for him anymore. He has a total lack of personal discipline and I'm through worrying about him. The fool can't and won't ever get his act together; such a waste of golf talent. He chose his path, and if he's too stupid or lazy to get his life together, he's history.
I'm not surprised. Over 10 yrs ago he ****** off all his fellow pros when he claimed most golfers were using performance enhancing drugs. In reality he was just upset because people called him out for his **. The other good golfers at that time were majorly upset with him.
Daly is a major ***** up. He's had every opportunity to do well, but hasn't taken it. He'd rather just get drunk.

Reason: violation of the language policy - improper acronym
I was at Hooters last Saturday. Daly bought everybody beer and was signing autographs. At the PODS I followed him for a few holes. He must have handed 4 kids balls on his walk to each tee. Is there something wrong with drinking when you didn't make the cut anyway? I do feel sorry for Imada and O'hern.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with drinking on a Friday night, if you didn't make the cut. The problem with Daly is that he drinks all the time, when he should be practicing or attending other functions.
I think Daly is a good and friendly guy. But he has some serious problems. He has the talent to be a top ten in the world golfer, but he doesn't realize that talent. Instead of dealing with his own personal issues, he complains about other people giving him trouble. All he has to do is decide to clean up and play good golf. There are dozens, if not hundreds of people in the pro golfing world that would love to help him if he was just serious about helping himself. Most of the PGA pros in the last 15 yrs have been behind Daly and helping him as much as they can. But his head is messed up, and he just can't get his act together. He has all the support he needs. He just needs to make that personal decision to clean up and play some good golf.
I really can't think of many good things to say about Daly. He's got lots of talent, but that's about it. He's a drunk and doesn't have the brains to change, He sleeps with any woman that is dumb enough and drunk enough. He can't stop gambling all night, to the point of losing over $600,000 in one night. If he couldn't hit a golf ball 300 yards no one would know who he is. He's a drunken womanizer and a total waste of talent.
I don't get the bitterness regarding "waste of talent"..John Daly's talent is his to exploit or waste...JD may be an underachiever, but he is also a major championship winner and has made a ton of money, as well as married the love of his life numerous times...
Whatever, his life to lead, and all things considered he's done pretty well...
