Having one person/team win is not good for any sport. I am glad 2 very quality persons have won the Masters for the past 2 years. This is very good for golf!
Seems like a very nice young man who has a ton of game. This is a 15 years in the making prodigy who has now broken through. When he came over two years ago he had climbed up to No 12 in the OWR (moved from 29th to 15th today), and I have no doubt he will crack the top ten and stay awhile.
No one can truly challenge Tiger over the long term, but it is good for the game (and good for Woods) if other players rise up to push him harder.
I think guys like Immelman and Zach Johnson are great ambassadors for the game. I would have been sick if Tiger won with all the pouting he did after every shot he hit. What a difference between his behavior and that of Immelman, Snedeker, pretty much the rest of the field.
I was glad to see him come through and pull it off in the end. He played great golf the first 3 days, I was hoping he would shoot another round in the 60's. He drove the ball great all week. Snedeker has a great attitude about the game. He is confident in himself, but he's not cocky. He knows he has the talent, but he doesn't flaunt it. His short game was pretty darn impressive too.
I agree with Martini on Tiger's behavior. He's been pouting a lot lately. I'm not hating on him, and I agree with most everyone else that he's more than likely the best player to ever play the game, but his behavior is a little out of hand. Maybe he's having some personal problems or something...although I can't imagine what they would be.
I am glad to see him win, and I love Zach Johnson as a golf ambassador. Both them look very humble, have fun, and really love the fans. I am also happy to the Masters because of all the past winners playing, makes it like home, seeing all the familiar faces there. I really loved the profiles CBS did on players, and their wins through out the years.
On Tiger, I agree, his faces and frustrations don't translate to TV well, but this guys is a competitor and a perfectionist. He expects every shot to be perfect, no not expects, demands it of himself. This guy competes to win, there is no second place for a guy like this. Love him or hate him, you have to respect his work ethics, his ability, and especially his Drive to Win.
Lastly, I hope that someday my second fav golfer wins his Masters..GO KJ!
I have no doubt about Tiger having that competitive edge. Being like that, and a perfectionist as you mentioned, is what has gotten him where he is. But if you are a perfectionist and you hit a bad shot, don't blame the camera crews, or some guy walking down the fairway, the course conditions, changes made, whatever... Admit that you make human error.
Like I said before, I think he's great. Fantastic player and he does a lot for the community with all of his programs. I'd just like to see him chill out a bit when things aren't going his way.
KJ is pretty awesome. I'd like to see him win a Masters as well.
It was pretty awesome that he won. I was actually there for the Saturday round and probably twice as many people were following Tiger than him, so we were able to follow him around and have good spots the whole time. It is awesome watching someone when they are hitting the ball great.
It's great to see new player break thru and win their first major. It will take him awhile to realize the changes this win will bring to his life. Essentially, he has a "Get Out of (Golf) Jail Free" card for the rest of his career.
