Re: US Open

Pullleeessss. Betting on the chumps in the field (that's everyone but Tiger) is not a smart bet in general. I know he's hurt, but when his putter is on, you can forget about it. They just can't really compete with him. Plus, he knows the course as well as anyone.

Re: US Open

I've been playing with a very painful left knee the last few rounds. During the setup, stance, and swing I feel no pain or impingement. It's after the swing when the pain increases. I limp to the next shot, then just about at address the pain starts to disappear.. then I do it all over again.

My doctor told me I will need knee replacement surgery when I get older. I'm 52 now, so I'll wait another 10 years...

I understand what Eldrick is going through. It ain't fun.

Re: US Open

I'm cheering for Rocco...not because he's up against Tiger but because he's playing with a lot of heart and he's the underdog.

Re: US Open

I watched a lot of golf since Thursday and what an amazing tournament. The setup of the course was about perfect. I am a big Phil Mickelson fan and so like many got frustrated at times. The guy hits amazing shots including some I don't think Tiger can pull off. If he could put the ball the fairway off the tee he would have about 50 wins by now. He doesn't choke, he just can't hit the ball off the tee and of course nobody on the planet putts it like Tiger in the clutch. Phil is also stubborn as ****. On the hole where Phil got a nine, he was determined to pull off a miraculous shot and knock it in the hole after he missed the first time. He refuses to take his medicine and go on to the next hole.

Tiger is from another planet. You really want to say some of the things he does is luck but he keeps on doing them. The first hole is a killer for him. It is like he has to get that first wave of pain out the way on the first few holes to get used to it. He ought to just take a nine iron off that tee today and he would probably save himself a shot.

Re: US Open

Tiger won on the 19th hole playoff. Sort of anti climactic though, as he won by Rocco missing his par putt. It would've been better if Tiger won by sinking a birdie, or an eagle. But it was amazing to see Tiger's perseverance, and Rocco's gutsy performance. This coming from 158th guy speaks volume of his stones.
